We are looking for students ages 10 and above, both neurotypical and neurodivergent. We will be matching students by ages and interests. It will be tentatively a 1-year commitment, with an event every other month. Events may include structured activities such as arts and crafts, booths, games, walks, and other activities. We will explain the peer buddies’ role through a matching event and orientation, in which neurotypicals will learn about a few of the different special needs, appropriate language to use, and inclusive behaviors. This program will foster growth for all students and will also provide experience in the medical and health professions, community service, and encourages better understanding between peers. This program will expose neurodivergent students to increase their communication skills and provide support to them through their individual experiences and personalities.
